Japanese Chicken Meatballs On Skewers

INGREDIENTS

For Meatballs

  • 1/2 lb ground chicken

  • 1 tbsp potato starch

  • 2 tbsp panko Japanese breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 tsp ground white pepper

  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp minced ginger

  • 2 tsp minced garlic

  • 1 tbsp chopped green onion

  • 1 egg

For Sauce

  • Bachan’s Japanese BBQ Sauce

For Garnish

  • Roasted sesame seeds

  • Roasted seaweed

INSTRUCTIONS

For Serving

  • Soak 4 to 6 skewers in the water.

  • In a bowl, use your hands to mix ground chicken and all of the ingredients for the meatballs.

  • Form the meat mixture into about 16 meatballs and thread the meatballs onto the skewers.

  • Heat the pan or grill to medium-high heat and add cooking oil.

  • Grill the meatball skewers on each side for 4 to 5 minutes until fully cooked.

  • Brush the Bachan’s Japanese BBQ Sauce over the meatballs, then flip and brush the other side. Brush and Flip the meatballs skewers with the sauce for 1 to 2 minutes.

  • Transfer the meatballs skewers over a plate of rice, add roasted seaweed, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Drizzle some Bachan's Japanese BBQ Sauce for the finishing touch.
