Chinese Stir-Fry Black Pepper Beef

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb Angus Sirloin Steak, thinly sliced

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1 tbsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

  • 1 green pepper, cut into bite-sized cubes

  • 1/2 onion, chopped

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

  • 2 tbsp ground black peppercorn

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

For Serving

  • Steamed white rice

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Marinate the beef with baking soda and add 2 tbsp of water. Mix well together. Leave for 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Then rinse & drain off with water. Set it aside.

  • Make black pepper sauce. Mix well and set aside.

  • In a high heat wok or pan, add 2 tbsp of cooking oil.

  • Add the beef and let it cook for about 4 to 5 minutes until the beef char a little bit at the bottom, then flip to the other side for another 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Next, add green pepper and onion. Stir and toss for 30 seconds.

  • Then quickly add the black pepper sauce. Stir and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.

  • Finally, transfer onto a plate and serve with steamed white rice.
